Brett Winter Chief Executive Officer

Brett commenced his maritime logistics career working for Toyota Australia in their export program, before moving into a number of supply chain management roles. Joining Patrick in 2007, Brett has held leadership roles in Business Development, Transport, Stevedoring and Port Facilities Management. As GeelongPort CEO, Brett is responsible for the management of key port assets, operational service delivery and driving the Port’s growth strategy.

Stephen Anderson Chief Financial Officer

Prior to joining GeelongPort in 2009, Stephen spent over 20 years in Finance and IT consulting, working with clients such as Rio Tinto, Australia Post and North Limited. Stephen has also served as a Senior Consultant with KPMG and was Chief Accountant for the Costa Group of Companies. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Deakin University and is a registered Certified Practicing Accountant.

Rod Simkin General Manager - Engineering

Rod leads a group that formulates and delivers the GeelongPort Asset Management Plan to ensure the long-term safety and serviceability of all port assets. Rod's engineering team also provides technical support to all areas of the business, including customers, to facilitate operations and strategic development. Joining GeelongPort in 2006, Rod's extensive experience in the development and maintenance of maritime assets is is supported by qualifications in Engineering and Computer Science.

Adam Gordon General Manager - Operations

As head of Operations, Adam has overall management responsibility for port operations at its two key precincts; Corio Quay and Lascelles. Adam and his team ensure the safe and effective delivery of all operational activities across a broad range of commodities and cargoes. Adam commenced his career in the maritime industry with Patrick Stevedores in 2000. His 17 years of experience extends through stevedoring, maintenance and infrastructure, and contractor and operations management. Adam holds formal qualifications in Management and Leadership.

Darren Green General Manager - Maintenance

Darren has worked extensively within the manufacturing and industrial industry for over 30 years. He began his career as an apprentice at the Ford Motor Company. Darren holds formal qualifications in Engineering and Manufacturing.
Over the years Darren has progressed into management level roles within various companies as an innovative and experienced leader overseeing maintenance, manufacturing and engineering strategies. Darren now leads the maintenance team for the Geelong Port. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge, delivering on safety, reliability and continuous improvement activities for the ports assets.

Shane Royle General Manager - Trade & Property

Shane manages the customer and property portfolios for the Port, and is responsible for all business development activity aimed at achieving strategic and sustainable economic growth. With over 20 years’ experience in the Australian logistics and supply chain arena, Shane’s deep industry knowledge stems from senior leadership roles in business development, operations and commercial management with Linfox, Toll and Aurizon. Shane holds an MBA and formal qualifications in management, marketing and logistics, including a Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) qualification.

Ian McIntosh General Manager - Health, Safety & Environment

Ian has had an extensive multi-disciplined career spanning Australia and the UK. An experienced tradesperson early in his career, Ian retrained and joined The Ford Motor Company as a professional Mechanical Engineer holding leadership roles across a number of disciplines. In 2005 he joined the airline industry, specialising in quality, OHS and safety risk management for Qantas and Jetstar Heavy Maintenance and Engineering. As GeelongPort General Manager HSEQ, Ian is responsible for shaping the ports environmental and safety culture, influencing and embedding applicable thinking, activities and behaviours.

Samantha English Human Resources Manager

Samantha has over 20 years' experience in the human resource management arena, beginning with Honda Australia, Samantha's deep knowledge of corporate and manufacturing environments stems from her senior roles with Sensis and Energy Australia, where Samantha set up a customer contact centre in Geelong. Samantha joined LINX Cargo Care Group in 2015 as Human Resources Manager for the Southern Region, incorporating responsibilities for GeelongPort. Samantha’s strengths include organisational development, change management, performance and conduct management, workplace relations and talent management.

Michelle Thompson EA & Administration

Michelle is an experienced Administrator with over 20 years’ experience working with senior management, providing quality support across a diverse portfolio base. Michelle’s responsibilities include port security access, contractor management, marketing, training and property administration. Michelle is often a lead for projects and key initiatives within the business due to her strong knowledge of business management systems, focus on quality, and continuous improvement mindset.
