Supporting our Neighbours

GeelongPort’s long standing support of the Moorpanyal Park 1000 Swim continued again on Saturday 29 February, with the North Shore Residents Group celebrating 21 years of the event.

Conditions were simply perfect for the 130 swimmers who took to the calm waters of Corio Bay to compete in Australia’s biggest free 1000-meter open water swim. In just over 12 minutes the first swimmer crossed the finish line claiming the title for 2020.

In supporting the event’s sustainability goals, this year GeelongPort engaged the race timing experts Tomato Timing to come along and accurately time the swimmers. As soon as the last swimmer crossed the line, the results were available!

We look forward to continuing to support our neighbours and this fantastic community event where we work, play and live.
