Ameropa Fertiliser Shipment Showcase

From growers to agronomists, agriculture experts from around regional Victoria converged at GeelongPort to see the Sarita Naree and its critical cargo.

A bulk carrier, the Sarita Naree, was at GeelongPort unloading MAP (Monoammonium Phosphate) and DAP (Diammonium Phosphate) fertiliser critical for crop growth into hoppers and onto trucks bound for farms throughout the state.

International agricultural company, Ameropa, invited the growers to visit the shipment to give them a chance to learn more about the import and unloading process.

Established in 1948, Ameropa is a family-run international agricultural company that covers the entire food supply chain and whose activities range from production to logistics and merchandising to distribution. The company connects farmers with customers around the world by trading and distributing essential agricultural products through two main areas: grains and oilseeds, and fertilisers.

2025 marks a 15-year relationship milestone between Ameropa and GeelongPort, a partnership that is integral to connecting global value chains.

During our 15-year relationship more than 3,000,000 tonnes of fertiliser products have been transported with GeelongPort involvement.

With the maritime transport system moving over 80% of goods traded worldwide, our support of customers and contribution to supply chains extends beyond our location.

We look forward to continuing to support Ameropa and its customers as they contribute to growing vital resources globally.
