GeelongPort has been a proud supporter of Ocean Mind Incorporated for the past five years, and this year GeelongPort sponsored Ocean Mind’s annual art competition where participants were invited to draw what the ocean meant to them.
A four-year Ocean Mind participant, Lucie, was the talented winner for her artwork which beautifully captured the feeling of freedom and joy she experiences in the water.
“It is very exciting doing something I enjoy and to be recognised for it. The inspiration behind the design is taking an early morning surf – despite it being cold, seeing the sun and the cloud in the early morning gives me hope that today will be a great day,” Lucie said.
GeelongPort provided Lucie’s prize of a wetsuit thick enough to help her brave the winter cold and enjoy the surf all year round!
