GeelongPort opens expressions of interest for Corio Quay site

GeelongPort is pleased to announce it is taking expressions of interest for 35 Crowle Street, North Geelong, a 38,000sqm[1] strategic port parcel which allows occupants to design and build their own purpose-built facility within the GeelongPort site and be co-located next to Spirit of Tasmania’s Victorian home.

The site provides unparalleled supply chain connectivity and is suitable for a port related user who will have the ability to develop the area based on their operational needs, such as a transport or cold storage facility.

Key features of the property include:

  • Ground lease or pre-lease available
  • Co-located next to Spirit of Tasmania, who has just taken a 30-year lease with GeelongPort
  • Co-located next to GrainCorp
  • Adjacent to an existing rail loop, creating operational efficiencies
  • Positioned with proximity to Melbourne’s major supply chain infrastructure, including Geelong’s CBD (4km) and Avalon Airport (12km)
  • Low site coverage which allows for future expansion (STCA).

Elias Anastasiou, General Manager of Commercial at GeelongPort said the site was a prime location at a world class port that facilitates more than $7 billion of trade annually.

“The location of our port provides easy access to key trade routes for Victoria’s supply chain and has access to a large pool of skilled labour currently available in the greater Geelong area,” he said.

“This is a very unique site, strategically located adjacent to Spirit of Tasmania’s Victorian home making it a great opportunity for Bass Strait related freight or cold storage operators. It is also strategically located opposite the Graincorp, and Malteurop facilities adjacent to the existing rail loop.”

Situated in Corio Bay, GeelongPort is located 75km southwest of Melbourne in Geelong, Victoria’s largest regional city.

Managing close to 12 million tonnes of cargo and 600 vessel visits per year,  GeelongPort is Victoria’s second-largest port supporting the agriculture, construction, energy, and tourism sectors.

Mr Anastasiou said GeelongPort operated over 90 hectares of land and provided land, infrastructure and services to facilitate trade for some of Victoria’s largest businesses.

“Geelong has a proud history of manufacturing and innovation, and we are committed to supporting critical trades in and out of Victoria,” he said.

The property is offered for lease via expressions of interest closing Wednesday 1 November 2023 at 5:00pm (AEDT).
