Celebrating creativity in the community

GeelongPort is proud to sponsor an art competition inviting First Nations students at Northern Bay College to design the North Shore Football and Netball Club (NSFNC) Indigenous Round jumper for 2025.

After a fantastic response of 20 entries, Year 12 student Lauren Kelly’s design was selected as the winning entry. Her artwork will be adapted as the official NSFNC Indigenous Round jumper for the 2025 season.

Lauren was honoured as the competition winner at the NBC Art Showcase, held at their recently opened Goldsworthy Gallery on Thursday 14 November. The event began with a heartfelt Acknowledgement of Country delivered by Lauren, setting a meaningful tone for the evening.

As part of her award, Lauren received a $500 scholarship from GeelongPort to support her future studies and creative pursuits. Each of the other 19 entrants was also recognised for their efforts with a special GeelongPort gift bag.

We’re incredibly proud to support initiatives that celebrate creativity, culture, and community, and we congratulate Lauren and all participants for their inspiring entries.
